INTEPRA / OPUS LICENSE

Opus license

The current end-user agreement supplied with Opus 0.1.27.

Effective date: October 21, 2026

This End-User License Agreement (the Agreement) is between Intepra Co, a Pennsylvania business (Intepra, we, or us), and the person or organization that installs, accesses, or uses Opus (you). By installing or using Opus, you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not install or use Opus and request any available refund under the Refund and Support Policy.

1. The software

Opus is local-first desktop software for creating, importing, organizing, presenting, linking, and collaborating on mind maps, constellations, universes, story beats, attachments, and generated wikis. Some features are labeled Early Access or preview features and may change.

2. License grant

Subject to this Agreement and payment of any applicable fee, Intepra grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Opus on devices you own or control:

• an individual license may be used by one person;

• a business or team must obtain one seat for each person who uses Opus, unless the applicable order states otherwise; and

• you may use Opus to create personal or commercial work. Intepra does not claim ownership of your project content.

The purchase receipt or storefront listing may identify a different device count, term, edition, or seat quantity. Those order-specific terms control if they conflict with this section.

3. Restrictions

You may not sell, sublicense, rent, lease, or distribute Opus or a license key; bypass license or access controls; use Opus to provide unauthorized hosted access to third parties; or remove proprietary notices. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Opus except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction. You may make reasonable backup copies of an installer for your own licensed use.

4. Your content and responsibilities

You keep all rights you have in content you create, import, link, attach, or share through Opus (Your Content). You give Intepra no license to Your Content merely because it is stored in Opus. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed for Your Content and for deciding who receives a live-session invitation or exported file.

Opus can import third-party formats and repositories. Import does not grant you rights to the imported material. Generated wikis reorganize source material; they do not establish ownership, accuracy, canon status, or legal permission.

5. Intepra software and creative properties

Opus, its original interface, documentation, graphics, and source code are owned by Intepra or licensed to it. Opus screenshots and demonstrations may display Intepra's protected creative properties, including SwayBall®, Harb City®, and Romance of Amasia®. Their related stories, characters, places, artwork, lore, terminology, and other creative expression are copyrighted materials of Intepra Co. The named marks are registered trademarks of Intepra Co.

The Opus license does not grant any right to copy, adapt, publish, distribute, sell, train on, or commercially use those creative properties, except where Intepra gives separate written permission or applicable law independently permits the use. Their inclusion in documentation records Opus's development and does not make them sample content licensed to users. See the Intepra Intellectual Property Notice shipped with Opus.

6. Local files, backups, and data loss

Opus stores projects, backups, recovery data, recents, and generated wiki workspaces on your device. You control those files and should keep independent backups of important work. Recovery and dated-backup features reduce risk but are not a substitute for a separate backup system. You are responsible for device security, disk health, and access to your files.

7. Live collaboration and network features

Live collaboration is session-based. The host's computer coordinates the session. People with a valid edit invitation can change the shared session copy; people with a view invitation can view it. Internet sessions use a temporary Cloudflare Quick Tunnel, and GitHub repository import connects to GitHub. These third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices.

Keep invitation links private. End the session when collaboration is finished. Save a separate session copy if you want to keep shared changes. Preview collaboration is not designed for regulated, classified, life-critical, or highly sensitive data.

8. Updates and changes

Intepra may provide fixes, updates, or new versions. An update may add, change, or remove features where reasonably necessary for security, compatibility, performance, or product development. A separately sold major edition may require a new purchase. Opus does not promise that every third-party format or service will remain compatible forever.

9. Third-party components

Opus includes open-source and third-party components governed by their own licenses. Those licenses apply to the relevant components and are available in the Third-Party Notices shipped with Opus. Nothing in this Agreement reduces rights granted by an applicable open-source license.

10. No illegal or harmful use

You may not use Opus to violate law, infringe another person's rights, distribute malware, gain unauthorized access, or intentionally interfere with another system or live session.

11. Early Access warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Opus is provided as is and as available. Intepra disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Opus may contain defects or change during Early Access. Intepra does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect recovery, compatibility with every device or file, or permanent availability of third-party services.

Some jurisdictions do not allow particular disclaimers. Nothing in this Agreement excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Intepra will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, opportunities, or goodwill; or loss or corruption of data arising from Opus. Intepra's aggregate liability arising from Opus will not exceed the amount you paid for Opus during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

This limitation does not apply where applicable law prohibits it, or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

13. Termination

This Agreement continues until terminated. You may terminate it by uninstalling Opus and stopping use. Intepra may terminate the license for a material breach if the breach is not cured after reasonable notice where cure is possible. Sections intended by their nature to survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law, will survive.

14. Export and sanctions compliance

You must comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws. You may not use or transfer Opus where prohibited by law.

15. Governing law

Pennsylvania law governs this Agreement, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction in Pennsylvania may hear disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer forum or protection that applies where you live.

16. Entire agreement and severability

This Agreement, the order or storefront terms, Privacy Notice, and Refund and Support Policy form the agreement for Opus. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the greatest lawful extent and the remaining provisions will continue.

17. Contact

Contact Intepra Co through the official support method shown on the storefront listing or your purchase receipt. Include your receipt or order number for license or purchase questions. Legal notices should identify the sender, the Opus version, and a reliable reply address.
